33431935 Ext 14 ?????????

I had decided that I could not wait for two more weeks before I call this number, and while I did not want to do anything that might go against either Noni or myself, I had so many questions that I need answers too, so the following night I would ring this phone number, at the very worst, I could always hang up !!

The following night came, and I dialed the code for Malaysia, then the number 33431935 then the phone line started ringing, then a lady speaking in English but with a very strong Malay accent said,

Cosmopoint College, I said, hello, can I have extension 14 please, well I heard a few clicks, and the phone line started to ring, and ring, and ring, in fact it seemed to just keep ringing, then after what seemed like ages, the same lady came back on, and said,

sorry, no one is there right now, who do you want to speak with ?

I would like to speak to Nooraini Ali please,

in the background I could here talking, but it was imposable to make out what was said, again, it seemed a long time, then the lady spoke again,

Nooraini is away for two weeks,

I asked her, do you know where I can contact her ?

Nooraini is away on maiden leave, but she will be back in two weeks time,

ok, thank you very much, I will call back.

Well at least I know where the phone number goes too !!! but what is maiden leave ? perhaps that something that Malays celebrate !!!! perhaps a holiday, or religious festival, In New Zealand we have also different types of leave, like, Annual Leave, Sickness leave, Bereavement Leave, Domestic Leave, so I just want to know what is Maiden Leave !!!

But I knew that something was still very very wrong, a kind of sixth sense, but for now I will find out what the meaning of Maiden leave was, and find out I did.
